In May 2008, the Welsh Supporters team were invited to take part in the Eurofan tournament in Lviv, Ukraine.
Despite losing to teams from Ukraine, Poland and Russia, Wales made many friends with the teams and media,
when they visited the "Lviv Special General Education Boarding School N102 for Mentally Defective Children",
at 19 Pekarska Street, Lviv, 79004. 147 children attend the school, from the ages of 7 to 18 and the Welsh
squad donated shirts from the Get Shirty Appeal and Llanelli AFC.
Vyacheslav Novytskyy, the tournament organiser was impressed that Wales seeked out the special school to
visit. He said at the award ceremony, "These Welsh people are truely amazing football fans. They are the
most welcoming team in the competition and have just gone to make many faces smile of these children."
Thanks to Slavik and Oleg of FC Karpaty Lviv, for helping organise the visit, as well as the Honorary President of FC "Karpaty" Lviv, Mr Dyminskyy for sponsoring the tournament.
